How to Clean a Phone Case

2 minutes, 27 seconds Read

Most people use a case for their phone to protect it from getting damaged or broken in the course of their day-to-day life, as it has been shown that these devices are susceptible to breakage, given they are used everywhere.

The case is the front of contact with most things so it could be covered in germs, bacteria and viruses.

The best way to clean the most commonly found phone cases is not necessarily the same as the best way to clean the rest of the phone cases. We recommend trying your method on a small part of the phone case, to make sure it doesn’t damage the case.

We recommend washing phone cases with soap, hot water, and a soft washing/scrubbing cloth brush, which is non-abrasive, to gently wash them. We will give some advice for both of them, because there are different phone cases available.

Hard, Gel and Silicone Cases

The phone cases are probably the easiest to wash because they have gone through a heated process when they were manufactured, so they are likely to be able to resist the hot or warm water that can be used to clean them.

The phone cases should be cleaned with a bit portable uvc light of dishwashing liquid, a soft cloth or non-abrasive scrubbing brush.

Rub or brush the whole surface of the case after it has been submerged in warm soapy water. Take out the water, rinse with cold water, and leave in a clean area.

The main problem with washing cases like this is that if the case has a print or custom logo on it, it may be possible that the print fades or is washed from the surface of the case. This won’t damage the case.

The methods will thoroughly clean and kill most germs.

Leather and Wallet Cases (real and pu/faux leather)

Hard leather cases and wallet style cases can be difficult to clean.

The method above will usually clean PU/faux leather using soap and water, because it is man-made and will hold up better than real leather.

If you use regular dishwashing soaps, real leather can become dry and cracked, so it can ruin the case.

If you use a leather specific cleaner to clean the leather part of the case, you can check if it is real.

The instructions on the leather cleaner/conditioner should not be taken with the phone case.

Skins and Screen Protectors

Skins and screen protectors can be cleaned in similar ways. Use any method to wipe the skin and screen protectors. There is a chance that some of the ink may fade over time.

Many screen protectors loosen at the edges over time. This leaves a place that is vulnerable to being hacked. If the screen protector becomes like this, we recommend that you either remove it completely or replace it with a new one. Before you replace it, make sure to clean the screen thoroughly.
